Russian President Vladimir Putin proceeded with military action against Ukraine on February 23 in spite of global condemnation and warnings of severe sanctions. Russian forces were deployed throughout the country after a buildup of troops over several weeks that was documented in the media and condemned by US President Joe Biden.
As of this moment, the United Nations says more than 50,000 Ukrainians have fled to other countries since the fighting started, Russian tanks have entered the Ukraine capital, Kyiv, and 130 Ukrainian citizens have been killed so far in the invasion.
The president of Ukraine has left his war room and put on full military gear to join forces on the ground.
Gunna is the next rapper to join Cardi B in speaking out against the Russia-Ukraine war. Cardi B, who’s been known to use her platform to speak out on social issues, spoke out yesterday condemning the war. She said, “Wish these world leaders stop tripping about power and really think about whose really getting affected (citizens) besides the whole world is in a crisis.”
Gunna came out today at midnight on Twitter stating, “We Pushing 🅿️eace #prayforUkraine”
Gunna has defined “Pushing P” to be a flexible phrase with many meanings – in this case, P is for peace between Ukraine and Russia.
