Though it’s a bit short, this week’s album roundup has some succinct releases. Starting things with a high note is Dinner Party’s Enigmatic Society album. Robert Glasper and Terrace Martin have put together an intimate and biting compilation of tracks. This one features contributions from Hi-Tek, Kamasi Washington, Tank, and many other talented folks.
Up next, we’re putting our stamp of approval on Jai’Len Josey’s soulful debut Southern Delicacy. The singer/songwriter has cut her teeth in writing rooms for the likes of Ari Lennox (she recently toured with Lennox too).
In the rap space, NLE Choppa rolls out Cottonwood 2 which is a biting drop from the Memphis, Tennessee native. It features Lil Wayne, Fivio Foreign, Lola Brooke, Polo G, G Herbo, Rick Ross, and Queen Naija. Yung Bleu also returns with Love Scars II with appearances from Chris Brown and Ty Dolla $ign.

Dinner Party does again with the laidback and soothingly soulful EP Enigmatic Society. Aside from production being top-notch, the project ethers into the R&B lane with appearances from Ant Clemons and Arin Ray.
Standout Tracks: “Watts Renaissance,” “Insane Ft. Ant Clemons”

Yung Bleu is particularly skilled at serving up chart-topping hits. For his latest, he utilizes his melodic voice and serves up some bops with the assistance of Ty Dolla $ign and Chris Brown.
Standout Tracks: “Waterfalls Ft. Ty Dolla $ign,” “Stingy Ft. Tink”

NLE Choppa is boisterous and braggadocious on his latest release Cottonwood 2. Tracks like “Ain’t Gonna Answer” are the icing on the cake because he’s in rare form throughout the project – Lil Wayne annihilates the antsy trap beat too.
Standout Tracks: “Before I,” “Drop Top,” “Ain’t Gonna Answer Ft. Lil Wayne”
Jai’Len Josey has been putting in the work as a songwriter and singer for years – and Southern Delicacy her Def Jam debut is proof of that. It’s a sultry, churchy, and emotional project injected with a flavorful sound only someone from the South is capable of creating. The melodies are stacked too.
Standout Tracks: “Pay For My Drink,” “Good Soup”
