Pierre Orpheus DeJournette, also known as, PD Beats, who worked on Juice Wrld’s posthumous album Legends Never Die, has filed a lawsuit against the late rapper’s estate and producer Dr. Luke.

The copyright lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday, October 17, alleges that PD Beats has not been paid for his contributions to the posthumous album, Legends Never Die. The album was released on July 10, 2021, featuring 21 tracks and collaboration with artists such as Trippie Redd, Halsey, and Polo G

Furthermore, Juice Wrld tragically passed away at the young age of 21 on December 9, 2019, due to a seizure shortly after disembarking from a private jet in Chicago.

In terms of the track, “Not Enough,”  PD Beats claims that he wrote the track and made significant contributions to its production, instruments, and performance. Billboard reports that the producer is seeking a judicial declaration that he is indeed a co-owner and a court-ordered accounting of the song’s revenue.

He also states that he wrote the beats and “programmed the 808s” for the song. However, both Dr. Luke and Juice Wrld’s estate have allegedly refused to recognize PD Beats as a co-owner of the copyright.

The music industry is no stranger to copyright lawsuits. Just recently, Jay-Z, Timbaland, and Ginuwine won a copyright lawsuit against soul singer Ernie Hines.
