A$AP Rocky continues his high-profile return with the release of “HELICOPTER$,” a new single that underscores his flair for spectacle and sharp-edged experimentation. Written by Rocky and longtime collaborator Kelvin Krash, and co-produced by the duo alongside Soufien 3000, the track follows last week’s “Punk Rocky” and further builds momentum toward Rocky’s forthcoming fourth studio album, DON’T BE DUMB, due Jan. 16 via A$AP Worldwide/RCA Records. The song pairs braggadocious energy with industrial-leaning production, reinforcing Rocky’s status as a boundary-pushing force in contemporary hip-hop.
The accompanying video for “HELICOPTER$,” directed by Rocky and Dan Streit in partnership with Moncler, has reached over two million views in one day. The creativity applied elevates the release into a cinematic event. Featuring the now-iconic D.B.D. helicopter first seen during Rocky’s 2025 Lollapalooza performance, the visual follows Rocky and his crew as they take over the city amid escalating chaos. Using lifelike 3D holograms and advanced rendering techniques, the video transforms Rocky and his cast of characters into digital objects, blurring the line between physical performance and immersive animation while aligning with his GENIUS Collection collaboration.
DON’T BE DUMB marks Rocky’s first full-length project in eight years and has already generated major global demand, with more than 130,000 vinyl copies sold through partnerships with Bilt, Quince and another collaborator yet to be revealed. The album’s Tim Burton–designed cover art showcases six of Rocky’s alter egos—GR1M, MR. MAYERS, RUGAHAND, BABUSHKA BOI, DUMMY and SHIRTHEAD—capturing key eras of his career. The release caps a banner year for Rocky, who served as co-chair of the 2025 Met Gala, was named creative director for Ray-Ban, appointed Chanel’s newest house ambassador, and delivered standout performances at Lollapalooza and Camp Flog Gnaw, signaling a bold new chapter ahead.
