Building on its success, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse follows teenager Miles Morales, who discovers other Spider-Men in the multiverse. With a star-studded cast and hip-hop soundtrack, the movie aims to captivate audiences in film and music.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the second installment in the animated series, based on teenage hero Miles Morales. Bitten by a radioactive spider in the subway, Morales gains unique powers, becoming his universe’s sole Spider-Man. In this sequel, the first black Spider-Man joins forces with spider-powered heroes from multiple universes. Actor/director/”blacktivist” Issa Rae does the voice for Spiderwoman.

The soundtrack, helmed by executive producer Metro Boomin, is set to be a banger Hip-Hop fans will enjoy. The tracklist was rolled out on social media with illustrations of the featured artist in cool Spidey masks. Among them are Lil Wayne, Nas, ASAP Rocky, Coi Leary, 21 Savage and Offset.

ATL’s very own 2Chainz took the helm as the host for the red carpet premiere of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” alongside his son, Halo, on June 1st. The event drew a star-studded lineup, including renowned personalities like Issa Rae and Daniel Kaluuya. Offset, accompanied by his sons, Metro Boomin, and more also graced the occasion.

Adding to the excitement, notable figures from the entertainment industry, such as Tami Roman, Queen Najia, Clearance, Nav, Bambi, and Lil Scrappy, made appearances, further elevating the film’s buzz.

Following the breakout 2019 success of the first film, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” which grossed $190.2 million domestically, expectations are high for the sequel. Box office projections indicate that “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is likely to nab a $90 million bag this weekend alone.

Fans of the SpiderVerse series are eager to witness new characters and hear familiar voices in the movie, while Boomin’s exceptional soundtrack further heightening anticipation for a blowout blockbuster weekend buoyed by the culture.

Competition will be high though, with The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey in its second week having achieved the highest opening ever with a black female lead in its opening weekend.
