Alchemist and DJ Premier Announce Joint Tour

The Alchemist and DJ Premier have two of hip-hop’s most enviable resumes; and now the legendary superproducers are hitting the road together. Alchemist posted on Instagram, making the announcement official and assuring fans this will be one for the ages. Preemo confirmed the news on his page, as well, as Alc talked about what the moment means to him.

“Man…If you know me, you know how much of a big deal this is for me,” Alchemist posted. “@djpremier is the greatest of all time and the reason I became what I am today. I remember being on tour with him when I was just a roadie for Cypress. Now I am blessed with the honor to join him & put the forces together live on stage.

“HISTORY WILL BE MADE!” he added. “Don’t miss this one.”

It’s the most recent collaboration for Alchemist in a year that’s seen him teaming up for some high-profile projects. Last month, he was on the road with Erykah Badu for The Abi & Alan Japan Tour in anticipation for their joint album. They also recently announced the U.S. leg of the tour, which kicks off on Aug. 8 in Seattle.

And Freddie Gibbs and Alc’s Alfredo 2 is finally on the way. The new joint project is set to drop July 25th; it’s a sequel to their acclaimed 2020 collaborative album — one of the most celebrated releases of the past five years.

That’s alongside Alchemist-produced projects by Yasiin Bey and Mobb Deep that are on the way.
