According to the lawsuit filed by Steven Roberson in a Georgia court, which is now pending, occurred in March 2021, he sent Bow Wow $3,000 via CashApp for a feature on a song titled “Daddy’s Girl,” meant for his daughter. However, the Ohio native allegedly did not fulfill the agreement by recording the feature within the specified timeframe.
On the other hand, Bow Wow maintains his innocence, claiming that he did not receive any money from the child rapper. Instead, he asserts that the young artist fell victim to a catfishing scheme, leading to the misunderstanding.
Taking to Twitter to address the situation, Bow Wow stated:
“D pimpin done got yall again huh? I don’t conduct business on apps. I do NOT use or have cash app. So if you aint call management and send a wire.. you def was NOT dealing w me. Be careful who yall send yalls money to online. This happens everyday to folks. This the 3rd time somebody acting like me catfishing people.”
In light of the allegations, many of Bow Wow’s supporters have rallied to his defense, where one user tweeted, “How @smoss (bow wow) just going to dry snitch on D Pimpin? And for a petty 3k?” Despite the controversy, Bow Wow firmly denies any involvement in the alleged transaction.
The legal battle continues, leaving the matter unresolved until the court reaches a verdict. Beyond the legal troubles, Bow Wow has recently expressed his concerns about hip-hop music, advocating for a revival of authenticity within the genre.
The rapper calls on fellow artists and the industry to embrace genuine expression and originality to preserve the essence that defines hip-hop’s roots.
