Cardi B Is Finally Confident Enough to Release Her Second Album

Cardi B insists she’s finally confident enough to release her sophomore album and promises some surprising features.

On Monday (March 31), Cardi went live on X Spaces and shared the latest update on her oft-delayed second LP.

“The features on my album are really good,” she began in the video below. “I don’t have a lot of features—well, it depends on what y’all say is a lot of features. I’m working with artists, some that I have worked [with] before and some that I haven’t worked [with] before. The ones that I haven’t worked with before, I feel like it’s gonna really, really surprise y’all.”

“And it’s such a vibe,” she added. “I could tell you this—I’m 100 percent confident with this album. I just don’t think what I got is out there…I gave y’all some clues on my features and that’s it.”

Cardi B Overcomes Anxiety About New Album

Cardi B’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, dropped all the way back in 2018 and won the Grammy for Best Rap Album the following year. In the years since then, Bardi has been reluctant to release a full-length project despite putting out multiple No. 1 singles including “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion and “Up.”

In 2022, the Bronx, N.Y. rapper revealed anxiety was stopping her from putting out a new project.

“I do have anxiety,” Bardi revealed in a video shared on social media. “I’ve been having a lot of anxiety ’cause I know right after I drop my album I have to go on tour. And I have bad separation anxiety from my kids.”

In 2024, she again promised the LP. “I promise y’all this year, I’m not letting my anxiety, I’m not letting what haters say, I’m not letting what fans say,” she said on Instagram Live. “If I do a song, I’m just gon’ f**king drop it. Well, I have no choice because I’m dropping my album this year. So, stay tuned for the announcement. But, don’t play with me.”

The album release did not come to fruition, but it looks like Bardi is gearing up for a possible 2025 release with more courage than ever.
