Cardi B has officially announced the release date and cover art for her long-awaited sophomore album. The Bronx-born rap diva broke the news via social media on Monday, June 23: her new album is called Am I The Drama? and it will drop on Sept. 19. It’s been seven years since the release of Cardi’s hit debut, Invasion Of Privacy.

“Seven years, and the time has come,” Cardi said in the teaser for Am I The Drama? earlier in the week. “Seven years of love, life, and loss, seven years I gave them grace. But now, I give them hell. I learned power’s not given. It’s taken. I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back, I’m beyond; I’m not your villain, I’m your karma. The time is here. The time is now.”

Cardi dropped the album’s first single “Outside,” last week. The cover art for Am I the Drama? Is appropriately dramatic: with Cardi B in a red body suit and matching fishnet tights, holding onto the heel of one of her platform pumps. There’s also a raven resting on her shoe as more of them swarm around her.

The album will include previously-released Cardi hits “Up” from 2021 and 2020’s “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion. News of the official Am I The Drama? release date led to reports that the album has already sold more than one million units—months before its release. According to Chart Data on X (formerly Twitter), the project has already sold over 1.5 million total album units in the United States, due to including two huge hits, “Up” and “WAP.”

Cardi was recently honored with the 2025 American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Voice of the Culture Award. The 32-year-old received the award at a private ceremony in Los Angeles on June 8.

“Being recognized for the impact my songs have had on the culture means everything to me,” Cardi B said in a statement. “I’ve always wanted my platform and my music to stay true to who I am and inspire others to do the same, so this honor is especially meaningful.”
