This comes days after Pharrell decided not to bring his popular Something in the Water festival to Virginia Beach. Thompson expressed his main concern is that the Cavalier is a family resort and he feels as though Dave Chappelle is not appropriate for the environment.
The comedian Chappelle has been in hot water for his repeated comments on the LGBTQ community, seen most recently in his new Netflix special “The Closer.”
Public relations powerhouse Karen Civil took to Twitter to announce the special guests on Dave Chapelle’s upcoming documentary. The PR specifically mentioned Stevie Wonder and Snoop Dogg. The comedian is currently trending for his latest Netflix special that some deem transphobic.
Williams has announced that his massive music festival, “Something In The Water” will not return to the city of Virginia Beach in 2022, and possibly ever again. The artist sent a letter to the city’s government, citing disapproval of their action in the wake of his cousin’s death at the hands of police officers in March 2021.
