Dababy is back in the hot seat with the LGBTQ community.  The canceled/uncancelled rapper is now facing criticism for failing to donate to HIV/AIDS organizations he previously committed to following his homophobic rant at Rolling Loud.

Following his homophobic rant at Rolling Loud Miami Dababy was “canceled” by sponsors and supporters – and then uncalled when he completed sensitivity training and offered restitution to HIV organizations.

Earlier this summer at  Rolling Loud, DaBaby was captured on stage in a homophobic rant that immediately sank his career prospects, saying:

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS, or any of them deadly STDs that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up,” the 29-year-old instructed the crowd. “Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d*ck in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.” 

Immediately, backlash ensued with cancellations from sponsors and other festivals.  

Dababy met with a handful of HIV/AIDS awareness organizations back in August in order to take steps in repairing his reputation and was given an “uncancelled” pass – which immediately resulted in new opportunities, including his own national tour with Rolling Loud.

However, DaBaby failed to partner with any of the groups that he’d met with for World AIDS Day and many of the organizations say they never heard from him again.

Pavni Guharoy, a communications consultant for the Black AIDS Institute confirmed DaBaby’s lack of compliance in a statement via email which said, “Since then, we have not received any outreach, partnership, or funding from DaBaby.  The onus is now on him, if he chooses to, to convert his misinformation into allyship by supporting the work of the Black AIDS Institute and other people of color-led HIV organizations.”

Drama erupted between rapper DaBaby and model/singer DaniLeigh, with whom he shares a child. 

The domestic drama spilled into the streets and was broadcasted on Instagram Live, resulting in the police being called to DaBaby’s home late into Sunday evening. Despite originally stating he didn’t want to file charges, Dababy assisted police in pressing assault charges against DaniLeigh
