The verdict in Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ sex crimes trial has been announced. On Wednesday morning, legal reporter Meghann Cuniff reported that a jury found Diddy guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, but not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering. The guilty verdict is tethered to the less serious charge.

According to Cuniff, “Jurors convicting for transportation but not trafficking means they convicted based on the fact that transportation for commercial sex is illegal even if everyone ‘enthusiastically participates’ as AUSA Christy Slavik said in closing argument.”

The music mogul was arrested back in September 2024 on federal charges, and his trial officially began back in May. According to CNN, the jurors reached verdicts late Tuesday afternoon on the following charges: two sex trafficking counts, and two additional counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The jurors could not come to a consensus on the most serious racketeering conspiracy charge and were instructed by US District Judge Arun Subramanian to continue deliberations. The jury was then dismissed for the day, and asked to resume their deliberations on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. EST.

Since the scandal initially broke, Diddy has been hit with dozens of lawsuits, and details of the suits have made it difficult to parse through all the allegations against him.

While Diddy has been hit with a multitude of allegations, this trial revolved around charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. According to the indictment, Diddy used his wealth and influence to facilitate a sex trafficking ring while using violence and coercion to protect his reputation while maintaining his operations. Prosecutors allege that Diddy led a “criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”

More specifically, he was accused of hosting sex parties that he referred to as “freak-offs,” in which Combs arranged for the transportation and attendance of commercial sex workers. Prosecutors allege that Diddy used drugs, “force, threats of force, and coercion” to make alleged victims engage in sex acts with said male commercial sex workers.

Diddy is also accused of committing acts of violence and coercion against several women. According to the federal indictment, freak-offs were recorded and allegedly used as collateral to influence victims.

After initial deliberations, the jury sent a note to the judge saying they have reached a verdict on the counts of sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, but they are unable to reach a verdict on the racketeering conspiracy count. In their note to the judge, the jurors wrote, “We have jurors with unpersuadable opinions on both sides.” The judge instructed them to continue deliberating.
