Darryl “DMC” McDaniels from the popular rap group Run-DMC has made a surprising announcement – he wants to run for president in the upcoming 2024 election. While talking to Outkick, DMC expressed his happiness at the event and described the beauty of sports and its ability to unite people. He emphasized:

“The whole beauty of everything that’s going on, Messi being here, soccer, MLS, everything that’s going on, this is what the world is all about. We see so much division, but if we go to a soccer game or concert or museum, where the sports and art is, it’s a true representation of how great this world is.”

Shortly after speaking on soccer and the world, DMC announced that he is running for president to bring people together. He stated:

“This is what it’s all about – coming together. And I am running for President starting today because, in a beautiful place like this, what better place to announce it?

Although he did not delve into specific campaign strategies or party affiliations, his main goal was to unite people across the country. If DMC officially enters the race for presidency, he will join the ranks of other non-political figures seeking the highest office, including Vivek Ramaswamy and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

While DMC’s announcement has created a buzz, it remains to be seen how his presidential bid will unfold and what impact it may have on the political landscape.

In other news involving DMC, he recently reunited with Rev. Run to perform as Run-DMC at Hip-Hop 50 Live in New York. The concert celebrated the 50th anniversary of hip-hop and featured other iconic artists such as Nas, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, and Ice Cube

DMC’s return to the stage showcased hip-hop’s lasting influence and importance in the music industry.

Another rapper who previously announced a presidential run is Kanye West. The “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” rapper made headlines in 2020 when he entered the race for the presidency. However, his campaign faced internal difficulties, with his treasurer, Patrick Krason, resigning due to issues working with campaign manager Milo Yiannopoulos.
