While Kendrick Lamar set off the morning with “6:16 In LA,” Drake ends the night with his own response, “Family Matters.”
The track comes with a visual of a minivan — not unlike the one found on the cover of Kendrick’s sophomore album — getting crushed in a junkyard. Throughout, Drake accuses longtime Kendrick friend and manager Dave Free of being the father of one of Lamar’s kids, continues to make comments about his wife (which, honestly, is a bit weird in my opinion. But, talking about rappers’ wives has always been Drake’s thing, I guess), has some words for Rick Ross, Future, Metro Boomin, and A$AP Rocky, claims that The Weeknd’s music is for the gay community, and more.
