On Sunday, June 11, Yasiin Bey, also known as Mos Def, opened the show in San Antonio, TX, with an electrifying performance, treating the audience to his most beloved songs such as “UMI Says,” “Ms. Fat Booty,” and “Hip Hop.” Bey’s captivating stage presence and impressive dance moves created a euphoric atmosphere, forging a special connection with the concertgoers.

Erykah Badu took the stage with her signature style, incorporating vibrant AI-generated art into her performance. She started her set with an unreleased song featured in the tour’s promotional video, setting the tone for a night of surprises. 

Badu mesmerized the audience with her soulful renditions of hits like “On & On,” “Tyrone,” “Bag Lady,” and “Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop).” During the performance of “Love of My Life,” Badu joyfully announced that hip-hop had turned 50, celebrating the genre’s milestone with the Texas crowd, saying, “Guess what Texas, hip-hop is 50, and I was there!”

As a special tribute, Badu performed a rendition of singer Ari Lennox’s “Whipped Cream,” showcasing her appreciation for fellow new artists. She also unveiled another unreleased song from her upcoming album, delighting fans with a sneak peek of her new music.

Closing out the show with her iconic track “Window Seat,” Badu delivered a heartfelt message expressing her gratitude for life and the unwavering support of her fans.
