Through his own experiences as an immigrant, French Montana aims to inform and empower individuals navigating the complexities of immigration. This initiative aligns with his upcoming documentary FOR KHADIJA, chronicling his family’s journey from Morocco to the Bronx in 1996.

French Montana’s video resonates with immigrants as he candidly shares his personal journey of growing up in a new country while striving for success. He recalls how his family immigrated to the United States when he was 13 years old, seeking better opportunities and the chance to make a mark. 

In the promo video, the “Unforgettable” rapper states, “My name is French Montana. My journey to success wasn’t easy. Like millions of others who dreamt of opportunities, freedom, and a chance to make our mark, my family came to the United States in search of a better life.” His words reflect the struggles many immigrants face who embark on a path of uncertainty in pursuit of their dreams.

French emphasizes the challenges he encountered as an undocumented immigrant. At 17, he discovered his undocumented status, realizing that his dream of attending college and playing basketball was at risk due to the lack of a social security number. He vividly recalls how his family had to navigate the complex immigration system independently, without any external support. 

Despite these obstacles, French Montana persevered, ultimately achieving success, namely in the music industry.

The rapper’s collaboration with Informed Immigrant showcases his commitment to helping immigrants overcome barriers and access vital resources.  Above all else, French Montana seeks to empower immigrants who face the challenges he faces.
