LOS ANGELES — Ketchup Entertainment has acquired domestic distribution rights to Rolling Loud, a feature comedy produced by Live Nation Studios and American High in collaboration with the globally dominant Rolling Loud festival brand. Written and directed by Jeremy Garelick, the film is slated for a nationwide theatrical release on Sept. 18, opening in more than 2,000 theaters. Set against the backdrop of the world’s largest hip-hop festival, the project aims to translate the chaos, energy and cultural weight of Rolling Loud from the stage to the big screen.
Starring Owen Wilson and Matt Rife, Rolling Loud blends festival-scale spectacle with broad comedy, while tapping directly into contemporary hip-hop culture through appearances by Ty Dolla $ign, Sexyy Red and Ski Mask The Slump God. The supporting cast includes Christine Ko, Christian Convery, Jolene and Henry Winkler. Leveraging Live Nation Studios’ access to artists and live events, the film centers on the unpredictable collisions between fans, performers and personalities that define modern festival life.
Executives behind the project framed the film as both a cultural moment and a strategic theatrical play aimed at music-driven audiences. Ketchup Entertainment CEO Gareth West called the film a “bold, unapologetic comedy with real cultural credibility,” while Live Nation Studios head Ryan Kroft emphasized the power of live music as a storytelling engine. Rolling Loud co-founder Matt Zingler described the film as a celebration of the community and chaos that built the brand, which has grown into a global hip-hop force since launching in 2015. Rolling Loud opens in theaters nationwide Sept. 18.
