They Cloned Tyrone, a Netflix production, boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Jamie Foxx, Star Wars’ John Boyega, Teyonah Parris from Marvel’s projects, and J. Alphonse Nicholson from P-Valley. This star-studded lineup has piqued curiosity and raised expectations for the film.

Shortly before, rumors and false claims regarding the singer/actor’s health circulated in the media, prompting his daughter to address the situation and refute the inaccurate reports. Foxx’s appearance in They Cloned Tyrone serves as a notable comeback, putting an end to the speculations surrounding his well-being.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the film’s intriguing premise, featuring an unlikely trio comprising Jamie Foxx, John Boyega, and Teyonah Parris. Together, they embark on a thrilling journey, uncovering a government conspiracy. The movie draws inspiration from the Blaxploitation genre of the 1970s, adding a retro flavor to the narrative.

They Cloned Tyrone is written by Tony Rettenmaier and Juel Taylor, further raising expectations for a captivating and thought-provoking storyline. Netflix has set the release date for Friday, July 21, 2023, exclusively on their streaming platform.

To add to the excitement surrounding the film, Netflix has partnered with Sage “Donkmaster Thomas,” a prominent figure in the Donk community, to design a customized old-school Donk car that captures the essence and style of They Cloned Tyrone. The collaboration resulted in a unique vehicle featuring a state-of-the-art entertainment system, 26-inch Rucci wheels, and a 32-inch TV inside the trunk, promising an immersive experience.

Promoting the film, the official Netflix “Strong Black Lead” Twitter account announced that the Donk car would embark on a Strong Black Summer tour, starting in Miami at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF). Netflix wrote:

“Come see for yourself, our donk is hitting the road for Strong Black Summer and our first stop is Miami at ABFF! And be sure to catch They Cloned Tyrone July 21, only on Netflix”.  Jamie Foxx himself took to Instagram to share the film’s trailer release and build anticipation among his followers where he captioned “It’s about to go down. #TheyClonedTyrone coming July 21, only on @netflix.”

The return of Jamie Foxx to the big screen in They Cloned Tyrone has generated significant buzz within the entertainment industry. With its star-studded cast, gripping trailer, and Netflix’s extensive reach, the film is poised to captivate audiences and deliver an exciting cinematic experience when it debuts in July.

Netflix has a history of casting musical icons, as seen in the film End of the Road, which featured Queen Latifah and Ludacris and was released on September 9, 2022.
