Jamie Foxx has been cast in the upcoming comedy film, Not Another Church Movie. Directed by Johnny Mack, the movie features Foxx as the character of God, while fellow actor Mickey Rourke will play his opposite as the Devil.

The film follows the story of Taylor Pharry, played by Kevin Daniels, who is given a sacred mission by God to share his family’s stories and inspire others. However, as he sets out on this holy quest, his family and the Devil try to hinder his progress.
The cast includes talented actors Vivica A. Fox, Tisha Campbell, Kyla Pratt, Jasmine Guy, Kevin Daniels, and Lamorne Morris.
The film’s producers, James Michael Cummings and former Warner Bros. executive Jim Cardwell are excited to have Jamie Foxx on board. Cummings stated:
“This film is a unique blend of new and established talent, and we can’t wait to hear the laughs and for audiences to see the magic that happens on the big screen. This movie will not disappoint.”
Valerie McCaffrey, the film’s executive producer, expressed her enthusiasm for the Academy Award-winning actor playing the role of God, calling the collaboration of talent in the movie unprecedented and highlighting the enjoyment of the actors, particularly Foxx, in their roles.
“The name talent that has come together for this fun comedy is unprecedented. You see all the actors having fun, especially Foxx playing God.”
Although the release date has not been confirmed, Not Another Church Movie is expected to hit theaters in late 2023, bringing laughter and entertainment to audiences worldwide.
In other news concerning Jamie Foxx, he recently faced a medical emergency, which led to hospitalization. However, he has since been released and shared a video showcasing his freestyling skills and addressing the health scare.
Additionally, Foxx denied rumors circulating among fans about him being a “clone.” On the professional front, Foxx starred in the science-fiction Netflix film They Cloned Tyrone, released on July 21.
Apart from his involvement in Not Another Church Movie, Foxx will also produce a documentary about R&B legend Luther Vandross, celebrating the late singer’s life and career.
In a loosely related story, rapper/television mogul 50 Cent has joined the star-studded cast of The Expendables 4. The action-packed thriller, set to release on September 22, also features Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Megan Fox, Dolph Lundgren, and others.
