In honor of its 30th anniversary, Jermaine Dupri is set to host the upcoming So So Def Festival. The event will occur at Atlanta’s Central Park on October 7th and 8th, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The legendary producer’s Twitter (X) account announcement on September 12 revealed the festival’s details, including a star-studded lineup of artists who will be performing. Among them are Ari Lennox, Xscape, Monica, T.I., Jagged Edge, Gucci Mane, Anthony Hamilton, T-Pain, Bow Wow, and more.

While each artist’s order and specific times are yet to be confirmed, fans can expect an unforgettable experience.

Excitement for the festival has been brewing among music enthusiasts, with X users expressing their enthusiasm through comments.

One user commented, “That’s a hell of a lineup,” and another commented, “Congrats to JD, this is major !! I wanna pull up.”

Additionally, to cater to fans’ preferences, the festival offers various ticket packages, including one-day general admission, two-day general admission, and VIP options for either one or two days. Tickets are currently available for purchase on the festival’s website.

In a previous event honoring the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, Jermaine Dupri received the prestigious Phoenix Award from the city of Atlanta. Mayor Andre Dickens presented the award to Dupri, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to the community and the music scene.

Additionally, the “Welcome To Atlanta” artist took to his X account to voice his disappointment with Atlanta brands that failed to acknowledge the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, prompting discussions among users about his involvement in organizing events.

At the Essence Festival in July 2023, Jermaine Dupri and So So Def were honored for the label’s 30th anniversary. They joined other rap icons in celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop as part of the festival’s grand festivities.

In a related event, the New York City Wine & Food Festival will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. The festival, which takes place from October 12th to 15th, will feature a closing party called “The Cookout,” hosted by Emmy Award-winning Tamron Hall and Power 105.1’s Angela Yee.
