On Thursday (Jan. 18), sources close to the Donda hitmaker informed The Shade Room that Ye’s new teeth are merely dentures, albeit very expensive ones. The new chompers, which appeared to be inspired by the James Bond villain Jaws, reportedly cost around $850,000 and were designed entirely by Kanye.

Additionally, Dr. Thomas Connelly, the dentist who performed Ye’s procedure, confirmed with The Daily Mail that Kanye’s teeth were all his doing.

“Ye was a pleasure to work with every step of the process,” Connelly told the outlet. “His vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression. The marriage of his vision with dental science has created a new look that is epic!”

Fans React to Kanye West’s New Dentures

On Wednesday (Jan. 17), fans had a lot to say when Ye unveiled the dentures for the first time on Instagram. After the reveal, Playboi Carti shared a text exchange between him and Ye on Instagram in which he celebrated the latter’s new mouthpiece.

“My big brother. N***a can’t tell me s**t,” Carti captioned the post.

However, a lot of fans were not enthusiastic about the new look. Many of them compared the look to aluminum foil or a gum wrapper being placed over Kanye’s teeth.
