Kanye Seeks To End Beef

In the video, Kanye is seen in Rothco Chapel in Houston flanked by hip-hop legend and icon J. Prince as he reads a prepared statement offering peace in his simmering beef with Drake. He says:

“I’m making this video to address the ongoing back and forth between myself and Drake. Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other and it’s time to put it to rest. I’m asking Drake on Dec. 7 to join me on stage as a special guest to share the two biggest albums of the year live in Los Angeles with the ultimate purpose being to free Larry Hoover.”

Kanye continues, saying  “I believe this event will not only bring awareness to our cause but prove to people – everywhere – how much more we can accomplish when we lay our pride to the side and come together.”

In more tweets, J. Prince added context to the message.

“So I met with @kanyewest to pass on the message from my brother Larry Hoover who said he would like to see peace between the two of them,” J. Prince wrote. “Ye received this well and said thanks because he never had anyone that sat him down and explain things to him the way I did. I’m looking forward to all of us working together in unison to elevate our communities around the world.”

Larry Hoover is the jailed co-founder of the ruthless Chicago gang, Gangster Disciples, who is facing 6 life sentences for a 1973 murder and running a continuing criminal enterprise for leading the gang from state prison.

Ye makes reference to Larry Hoover on the tracks “Jesus Lord” and “Jesus Lord, Pt. 2” from his recent Donda release.  The track featured a recorded message by Larry Hoover Jr, son of Larry Hoover Sr, in which he shares the injustice of his father’s continued incarceration and the impact of Hoover’s incarceration on his family.
