SOHH’s top five accomplishments spotlight Lebron James’s historic career as an NBA superstar, entrepreneur and activist since the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted him in 2003.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar passed Kareem Abdul Jabbar as the leader in points scored in NBA history. Lebron scored 38,390 points while scoring 38 points in the 133-130 loss to the OKC Thunder.

The Lakers star proved to be more than an athlete. After being told to “shut up and dribble” by Fox host Laura Ingraham in 2018, James took the term and made it his own after filing for a trademark for the slogan.

Lebron also co-produced the film Hustle, with Adam Sandler as a director, and Queen Latifah starred in the movie. The film reflected on basketball players in Philadelphia and with insight into the NBA industry and dealings. The movie is now streaming on Netflix.

Following the 2020-2021 season’s earnings, the living basketball icon had surpassed the $1 billion mark in career earnings. His NBA contracts have netted him roughly $300 million, while the massive remainder comes from endorsements.

“The historic year will push his career earnings to $1 billion, including $700 million off the court. He joins Tiger Woods, Floyd Mayweather, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi in reaching the three-comma club while still an active athlete.”

In 2016, James finally brought the city of Cleveland their first championship since 1964 when the Cavaliers came back from a 3-1 series deficit against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. R&B icon Usher then gave the King his props on the comeback.

Lebron James was mentioned by rap superstar, Drake, in celebration of his own accomplishment of surpassing 75 billion streams.

Drake is the first artist on Spotify to reach such an impressive milestone. Drizzy responded to the news by asking for a “Lebron sized-check” for himself and bonuses for artists to motivate consistency and competition.
