Lil Durk‘s second attempt to be let out on bond ahead of his murder-for-hire trial was unsuccessful today.

Lil Durk Denied Bond Request

On Thursday (May 8), Lil Durk appeared before a judge for a scheduled bond review hearing. The conference came after his legal team argued that the case should be thrown out, or at the very least, Durk should be released on bond, after the prosecution provided false evidence to the grand jury in the form of song lyrics and fan-made posts. After hearing from both sides, the judge ruled that Durk, born Durk Banks, will remain behind bars until his case is tried in court, Rolling Stone‘s Nancy Dillon reports.

“Lil Durk denied bail again,” Dillon announced on X. “He smiled at crowd of about 20 supporters as he was remanded.”

Durk’s team was offering a bond package that included approximately $900,000 in equity in real property, $1 million in cash and additional third-party sureties, as well as home detention and 24/7 surveillance by a security service.

Durk will remain in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Center until his trial, which is slated to begin on Oct. 14 after being delayed from Jan. 7.

XXL has reached out to Durk’s attorney for comment.

Lil Durk Faces Serious Time

Lil Durk was arrested on Oct. 24, 2024, and charged with masterminding and funding a murder attempt on Quando Rondo in retaliation for the King Von killing. Authorities believe Durk paid five men to travel to California to kill Quando. However, the shooting, which took place at a Beverly Hills, Calif. gas station in August of 2022, took the life of Quando’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson a.k.a. Lul Pab.

Durk has denied the claims and pleaded not guilty. This is the second time Durk has been denied bond. Last December, a judge refused Durk’s $3 million bond proposal. If found guilty, Durk could be sentenced to life in prison.
