Lil Tjay was arrested in the Bronx on his way to a video shoot with rapper Ice Spice on Monday, Jan. 16. His lawyer, Dawn Florio, said the NYPD illegally searched the car where four firearms were recovered.

The “Run It Up” artist was arrested for gun possession during a traffic stop while on his way to a video shoot with “Munch” artist Ice Spice in New York. The news follows after he recovered from severe gun shot wounds in August 2022.

The rapper’s lawyer, Dawn Florio, spoke out against the NYPD and said they conducted an illegal search on Lil Tjay’s legally parked car with four other men in the vehicle. Florio also said the gun was not Lil Tjay’s.

North Philadelphia rapper Tierra Whack was also arrested for having a loaded gun in the airport and was charged with disorderly conduct.
