It appears as though Dame Dashstill has some debts to pay, and New York State just bought his Roc-A-Fella shares to settle it.

According to a report from the New York Post, the state government — or, “an Albany State rep” — bought a 1/3 share of Roc-A-Fella Records for $1 million. The plan is to use it to sell the shares for more than they copped them for and hopefully settle some or all of the $8.7 million Dame allegedly owes to the state.

This report arrives two months after Dame said Drake put in a bid to purchase Dame’s stake in the label. Speaking on the matter in an interview published yesterday, Dame explained the situation while claiming that Drizzy “disappeared.”

“At the end of the day, I don’t really understand it,” said Dame, who reportedly still owes the state $193,000 in child support payments. “My child support, I guess, will get paid. In my mind, I wasn’t getting any of that bread anyway. If I can sell it, I thought people really loved [Jay-Z] way more than they did. People did not show up. Drake did put in a bid for $6 million, then he disappeared. It’s on my DM. I don’t know what happened. But other than that, no one wanted that sh*t.”
