Noname recently spoke to Chicago’s The Triibe and The New Yorker about the album and the journey to its release earlier this month on August 11. Sundial features notable guests such as Common, Billy Woods, Jay Electronica, Ayoni, Eryn Allen Kane, and more.
The album was produced by longtime collaborators Saba, Gaetan Judd, and Yussef Dayes.
Before the tour, Noname held the Sundial Block Party on August 17 in her hometown of Bronzeville, Chicago. The block party was free to the public, with a suggested book donation, and included various activities for all ages, including face-painting, bounce houses, Double-Dutch competitions, and booths for local activist organizations.
The event also featured Noname, Navy Blue, Alex Vaughn performances, and a surprise set from Chicago’s very own Common.
Tickets for The Sundial Tour will be available for presale on Wednesday, August 23rd at 10 AM local time on Spotify, while general tickets will go on sale on Friday, August 25th at 10 AM local time.
Noname has faced criticism in related news for featuring conscious rapper Jay Electronica on her latest album. However, she has responded to the backlash, asserting that she is not anti-Semitic and stands against white supremacy.
In other tour-related news, Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty is set to embark on an exciting tour starting in September, titled The Field Trip Tour, to promote his latest album. The tour promises to bring a unique and exciting experience to fans nationwide.
