Ja Rule, Ashanti, and Jadakiss will take over Empire State Building in honor of hip-hop’s 50th.

The event is scheduled at 12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 10th, 2023, at the Empire State Building. Partnering with Universal Music Group, the trio aims to make this event unforgettable and exhilarating.

The Empire State Building, an iconic symbol of New York City, holds a special place in the hearts of many hip-hop artists and fans. By illuminating its tower lights in gold, it serves as a testament to the genre’s impact on the city’s culture and society.

This event not only celebrates the past 50 years of Hip-Hop but also sets the stage for its future growth and evolution.

The notable New York artists have individually made their marks on the industry throughout their careers. Ashanti recently contributed to celebrating hip-hop’s 50th at the ESSENCE Fest in July 2023.

Ja Rule showcased his loyalty when he defended Ashanti against her ex, Irv Gotti, in 2022. On the other hand, Jadakiss is venturing into the world of film with his role in the upcoming rap documentary Mixtape: The Movie, highlighting the cultural impact of mixtapes in the hip-hop scene.

In a similar vein, Run DMC, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and Lil Wayne headlined the historic Hip-Hop 50 Live concert at Yankee Stadium in June 2023, further solidifying the genre’s enduring presence and influence. Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary serves as a reminder of its transformative power and ability to unite people through music and cultural expression.
