Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan was offended that Los Angeles rapper Roddy Ricch dropped him from the upcoming song, “FMFU,” which also featured Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne.

Quan, who announced a comeback to the rap game in June 2022, voiced his frustration with Ricch after his verse was removed.

On April 4, he took to his Instagram story to publicly share how he and Ricch talked out their differences — squashing their short beef.

“Just got off the phone with @roddyricch everything is smooth,” he wrote. “We settled it like men, and I want to apologize for my position at the moment and take this opportunity to show everyone that through conversations we can have solutions.”

Though the beef was settled, it still left a lingering question — What would a Verzuz with Rich Homie Quan and Roddy Ricch look like?

Before the rappers settled their difference, a disappointed Quan said he didn’t think Ricch’s catalog could “f*ck” with his.

“His catalog cant f*ck with mine any day,” Quan said. “Let’s go back and forth catalog-catalog, you ain’t got nothing but that ‘Box’ sh*t,” Quan added.

“The Box ” is one of Ricch’s biggest hits, but he was also sued for copyright infringement.

Ricch, who does not have a negative reputation, also called for Los Angeles to stop gun violence

Quan also bet $10 million on a battle with Ricch, hit-for-hit, or a Verzuz battle. The “Mamacita” rapper has had past disputes with other artists, such as his fallout with fellow Atlanta rapper, Young Thug

Fans on Twitter shared their takes on a potential battle between the two. One user admitted that even though he is a fan of Ricch, Quan would “smoke” him, while one user simply said Ricch’s catalog could not measure up to Quan’s.

For a potential battle between Quan and Ricch, the biggest songs that could be used for Quan would be 2013’s “Type Of Way” which has 287 million views on YouTube and  and Ricch’s 2018 hit, “The Box”, which has 482 million YouTube views. Quan has longer experience in rap since his debut project, I Go In On Every Song Dropped in 2012, while Ricch’s debut project Feed Tha Streets released in 2017.

In October 2022, Dreamville rapper JID was asked in an interview on The Breakfast Club about a deal he almost signed when he first started rapping.

“We(him and Atlanta rap duo Earthgang) got offered a deal from Rich Homie Quan,” JID said.  JID did not reveal the contract details but called it “disgusting.”
