Slick Rick, known for his iconic gold chains and signature red PUMA sweatsuit, perfectly captures hip-hop’s hustle, grind, and raw energy in the campaign. With his distinctive style, he states:

“The fabric that represents the hustle, the grind, and the raw energy that defines us.”

The PUMA campaign focuses on showcasing the brand’s gear in different colorways and how it seamlessly integrates into everyday life. Slick Rick and Flau’Jae put their twist on his hit song “La-Di-Da-Di” in the video, highlighting the connection between their style and the PUMA brand.

Johnson, who sports PUMA suedes in the campaign, raps, “Fresh dressed like a million bucks, throw on my PUMA suedes in them fly zip-ups,” while sporting her black suede PUMA shoes.

Johnson, who is an emerging talent in both basketball and hip-hop, describes PUMA as a brand that embodies, “swag and versatility.”

In addition to Slick Rick and Flau’Jae, the campaign features special appearances by actress Lauren London and rapper Cordae. Their inclusion adds even more star power and excitement to the collaboration.

The promotional video can be found on YouTube, where fans can experience the fusion of hip-hop and athletic fashion.

Flau’Jae Johnson had previously participated in another campaign earlier this year, alongside her LSU teammate Angel Reese. The duo was featured in a back-to-school visual dorm aid for Amazon, attracting significant attention on social media.

Pepsi followed a similar path in honoring hip hop, specifically paying tribute to the late New York rapper The Notorious B.I.G. with their campaign. The campaign seeks to pay homage to the late rapper and celebrate his influential legacy in the genre.
