The BeyHive swarmed the opening night of Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Tour in Stockholm, Sweden on Wednesday night (May 10). At the Friends Arena, the performance marked the vocalist’s first tour kickoff in five years, and the latest performance since her invite-only headlining show at Dubai luxury resort, Atlantis the Royal.

Although the Houston native didn’t have an opening act, she began the long-awaited Sweden show with a rendition of her 2003 song “Dangerously in Love 2” before performing cuts from her seventh album like “Alien Superstar,” “Break My Soul,” “Pure/Honey” and “Cuff It.”

The 32-time Grammy-winner had various costume changes throughout the night, with designer ensembles from Alexander McQueen, Balmain, and Mugler. Backed by cisgender, transgender, and non-binary dancers, Bey was surrounded by various onstage props, including disco balls, giant robots, and a metallic tank that the singer was seen riding.

While Bey also performed older songs from her decades-long catalog, the 41-year-old also made live debuts of “Lift Off,” “Black Parade” and her verse on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage (Remix),” which won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Song in 2022.

The Renaissance World Tour marks Beyoncé’s first global outing since ‘On the Run II’ with husband JAY-Z in 2018, and first solo tour since 2016’s The Formation World Tour. The European leg of ‘Renaissance’ will make stops in Belgium, England, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, and Poland before the North American leg begins in Toronto on July 8.
