Ye continues to spill tea on his broken relationship with Jay-Z. Now, Yeezy is claiming his clash with Hov about Jigga’s “red hat” line on the 2021 Donda track “Jail” is partially at the root of their current squabble.

Ye Gives Backstory on “Jail” Track

On Monday (April 21), Ye added another layer to his beef with Jay-Z by revealing the behind-the-scenes battle over Ye and Jay-Z’s last collaboration.

“Why did Jay Z have to say ‘no red hat’ on Jail,” Ye tweeted below. “That sh*t tore me to my soul[.] We fought about it and he told me either leave that line on there or take my verse off[.] Me wearing the red hat was the most stand out example of me going against ‘the program'[.] Do you guys think he was instructed to say that.”

The song reunion happened in the midst of Ye’s MAGA-promoting exploits and Trump support. On the track, Jay addresses Ye’s rocking Trump’s Make America Great Again gear.

“Hol’ up, Donda, I’m with your baby when I touch back road/Told him, ‘Stop all of that red cap, we goin’ home’,” Jigga raps on the track, which can be heard below. “Not me with all of these sins, castin’ stones/This might be the return of The Throne (Throne).”

Ye’s Current Beef With Jay-Z

Jay-Z is on the list of rappers that Ye currently despises. Much of Ye’s ire towards Jay is due to Ye feeling like Jay-Z didn’t help him when Ye was going through a custody battle with Kim Kardashian. In February, Ye shared vile posts about Jay-Z’s kids, claiming they are “ret**ded.”

“I LOVE JAY Z AND I DO FEEL BAD I ALWAYS FELT LIKE THE BLACK SHEEP LIKE I WANTED FAMILY IN THIS MUSIC SH*T,” Ye posted in follow-up tweets. “I’D RUN ON STAGES THINKING I WAS DOING THE RIGHT THING AND WOULD ALWAYS BE A SLIGHT HOV NOT COMING TO MY FIRST WEDDING HIM PUTTING KENDRICK ON THE SUPERBOWL OVER ME OR EVEN US NEVER BEING INVITED TO SH*T TAKING JABS ABOUT MY RED HAT ON DONDA I FELT LIKE BOTH HIM AND HIS WIFE COULD HAVE HELPED ME HAVE MORE LEVERAGE WITH MY KIDS THEY COULD HAVE USED THEIR CULTURAL POSITION TO NOT JUST WATCH THE KARDASHIANS RUN ME OVER. SH*T HURTS SO F**K BOTH OF THEM CAUSE WHEN I NEEDED THEM IT WAS F**K ME.”

Hov is reportedly thinking about taking legal action over the posts about his kids.
